Re: Should we be disabling closed loop when tuning AFM like older vehicles?
Yes. Proceed the same way. When happy with the s trim; re-enable l trim. I am personally going to limit mine to 5% +/-. All this would help with is the tune remaining close to optimal should the oxygen sensor start failing or if an exhaust leak would develop later on. Would not let the trims get co...

Re: Should we be disabling closed loop when tuning AFM like older vehicles?
Basically it keeps the global fueling adjustment for closed loop not functioning while you calibrate the afm table. You would want to dedicate a full day to doing this. Not something I would do right before a commute to work or anything as your limiting the ecu's compensating ability. Gotcha, what ...

Re: Should we be disabling closed loop when tuning AFM like older vehicles?
its under closed loop parameters. limit the long term trim percentage to 0%. I did mine for the last week or so to see what if any effect it had and am about to enable it again. Didnt change much of anything . Just a faster way to calibrate afm when starting from scratch. Thanks man, what makes it ...

Re: Should we be disabling closed loop when tuning AFM like older vehicles?
Yes , but only if your are tuning the AFM. If i have been tuning my AFMs based on my short term trim trends (AFM.v X short term %), should I make the minimum and maximum for long term 0%? What would this do to the way the car feels and drives? and would I also want to limit short term in any way?

Re: Should we be disabling closed loop when tuning AFM like older vehicles?
How do you adjust Long Term trim limits without affecting short term?
I've been adjusting my AFMs based on my short term trim results, and my long term trim moves too when I make that adjustment.

Re: Part Throttle Knock Count HONDATA FLASHPRO
I was getting pretty decent knock counts running the 6PSI tune with no adjustments made to it. Between 12 and 19 knock counts over 50 minutes of driving, 95% of which were being recorded in the same range on the ignition table. Knock control was responding to every single one of them, sometimes gett...

Re: Best Base Map Calib. for New Intake Takeda
I am doing a 300 mile drive today, is that way too long of a datalog to tune AFRs over?
If so I can split it up into 2 or 3 different logs, anyone have any advice?

Re: Best Base Map Calib. for New Intake Takeda
i may have been over reacting, i think 4 knock count over 40 mins travel is nothing to worry about. Yeah thats either minuscule knock that was probably naturally occurring on the stock tune too, or false knock noise picked up from the pavement conditions. No bolt on mods yet, right? Just an intake ...

Re: Best Base Map Calib. for New Intake Takeda
I had a total of 4 knock in my morning commute, 2 in cylinder 1 and 2 in cylinder 2. Knock control stays at 0.57. can we check the datalog where exactly that knock occured? I know there is another way to control that, but I think it's more generic and universal than these fine-tuning adjustments an...

Yes, pull up your graph from your datalog and make sure K Count is one of the things it measures. Pull up the IGN table using ...

Re: Best Base Map Calib. for New Intake Takeda
Started fresh with a brand new 6PSI+ tune and made a single adjustment from BeginningV-2.2V of -5% (with very slight blending of the 3 values after the range). my S.TRIM graph looks better than it ever did, even after the dozens of adjustments I made the first time around. 08 29 19 Commute.jpg Also,...

I am having the same issue on the 6PSI+ CVT tune, even before adjusting anything away from the canned parameters.

Re: Best Base Map Calib. for New Intake Takeda
still getting decent knock count with the fresh tune and AFR values imported from old tune, plus all I did was a -3% adjustment across the board and somehow ran richer this morning than last night on the same commute. just flashed it back to the fresh 6PSI basemap with no adjustments, going to rebas...
