rare P29-T50 - chipping and auto to manual

Post by mmag1982 »

tech people,

I am posting this rare ECU and hoping to get all the possible tech data on chipping configurations applicable for it as well as the auto to manual conversion RP 18 jumper thing. ( note how RP 18 is empty which is different from USDM ecus )

This ECU is currently running a D16A9 auto ( the DOHC ZC twin )

- the s300 platform works with this ? is this surface mount or through hole?

- on the auto to manual conversion, i know the remove RP 17 and Jump RP 18 process, however the question is , what exactly happens in the ecu when we do that? are the fuel and ignition tables different manual to auto?

as part of the conversion process i will need to jumper the Auto shift position indicator to make the ECU think its in park so it would send the ignition signal ( car wont start in D ), any negative effects on performance when the ECU is going through the manual gears while its getting a park signal?

Use of this ECU with the s300 is no different than any other rectangular case OBD1 ECU. Some error codes may need to be disabled in the software.
