ECU Prelude Swapping

Post by Cub Forrest »

I own a 1989 Automatic Prelude Si. I've just been told that I need to replace my transmission computer (ECU), however I can't find the part anywhere?

I have the non-functional one and the wrecker's located one from a 1991 Prelude that they say I should be able to use. The Only problems are that the 1991 ECU's box is smaller and has 4 prongs instead of 3. It doesn't even look mountable but they tell me they are interchangable.

I've seen photos of the 4 generations of OBD0 - OBD II. My ECU is identical to the OBD 0 (JDM PR3 and PWO). They found the OBD I ECU.

My part number is 37820-PK2-6760 (A, C-AT 503-210847)

Is there some way to connect this or is it EVEN useable? (I haven't purchased it yet)

If not, does anyone know where I can find the proper ECU?

Right now I have no transportation. So a quick relpy would be great. Thanks Cub Forrest. (Tiger Woods little brother)

U will need to get an OBD0 Prelude ECU (PK2) That is the only one that will properly work with your size motor. Check otu www.car-part.com for good pricing on used ECUs.
