91 honda-hondata yes or no

I have a 91 honda accord, with a f22 engine. What would be the hondata system for me, or is there one for me? My car is still an automatic and will probably remain such. I'm new to the hondata system, but my mechanic is telling me that it will help solve some of the problems I'm having with my engine swap. ie. idle speed, and numerous other small problems. I would be thankful for any advice.
