Datalog Fails After VTEC Engages

Post by MarkyMark203 »

k24/k20
92 eg civic
kpro

**notes: vtec pressure switch disabled (was getting code for this) speed sensor set to constant speed**

So I tuned the car last night and everytime we'd datalogged, it would fail right when he would get into it in 4th gear and VTEC would engage. What could cause this? Thankfully he was logging in a separate program with innovate or the mustang dyno and we were able to continue..

Post a picture of the grounds in the engine bay.

What spark plugs are being used?

Thanks for the response. Sounds like you know where to look for this issue. I couldn't find much info on it other than one guy who actually experienced the same exact issue, but never posted the fix.

Grounds (I will post pics shortly) One from the harness for ECU is on the valve cover, another on the transmission to chassis, and third from timing cover to chassis.
