K24A1 / K20A3 PND Kpro4 VTEC Killer setup

Post by CHB »

Hi Hondata,

I now currently running K20A3 PND Kpro4 and it runs flawlessly.

I am going to upgrade the engine with "true 3 lobes" cams from K20A Type R and running on the High Speed cam lobes all the time, aka VTEC Killer.

Should I tune the ECU with Low Speed Cam (Fuel, Ignition and VTC maps) and ignore the High Speed Cam (Fuel, ignition and VTC maps)?

I would like to increase the max RPM from 7000RPM to 8500RPM on all the table.

I will upgrade the MAP sensor to Hondata 4 bar MAP. Once replaced, I will need to select the correct MAP sensor under MAP in Paramater. But will this also change the fuel, ignition and VTC map scale to accomodate the extra boost from the MAP sensor?

Please advise.

Thanks

Changing the map sensor will not change anything in the maps or scaling.

How about extending the RPM range on the low speed cam?

Nothing in the tables will be c hanged by selecting a different MAP sensor. You can always rescale you maps if you want, but there really is no need as the ECU interpolates between the columns.

Hi Spunkster
Thanks for your input. Okay now lets forget about the MAP sensor change.

VTEC Killer setup will always runs on the Hi-speed cam lobe. I believe I only need to tune the "low speed cam" tables and set VTEC Point higher than the target redline RPM so that the ECU never need to run the "Hi speed cam" maps.

For example, my target max RPM is 8000, I will need to set VTEC Point to 8500RPM etc.

Now, the "low speed cam" tables maxing out at 7000RPM.

How can I change this to 8000RPM or even 9000RPM?

Right click on the rpm and click Edit RPM index.
