KPRO card for PRA and PRB ECU are the same ?

Post by menfou »

Hello,

I have a PRA ECU with a kpro card and he works fine until today.
Today I put a other Kpro card and I can't upload or download something, and my idle is very bad.

With my old kpro card, in Online->Information I had : PRA ECU
With this new kpro card, I have : PRB ECU , but I have a PRA ECU !!!!

PRB kpro card and PRA kpro card are the same ????

The circuit boards are exactly the same...there is no difference. When the serial number was set, it was coded as a PRB...that will not cause any problems.

With my old kpro card I didn't have problem.
Since I put this kpro card, my pra ECU doesn't work fine, and I don't understand why.
I just un-plug the old card, and plug this new card.
I promise you I don't modify something

10 minutes ago, I just try to put my old card on my PRA ecu, and in Information I have PRA ECU, but I can't upload or download something !!!

I don't want to try this kpro card on a other ECU, because I don't want to have this problem 2 times.

The K-Pro board will not mess up the ecu. It sound like the soldering of your ecu was not done very well and you have bad solder joints.

OK,I will look for bad weld.
But my engine idle is very bad until I put this kpro card on my ECU

I found something

It's very strange, but I can say you that:
22 september, a friend had a TODA N2 Kit with a new ECU with kpro card but his car didn't start, so he sent me the TODA ECU and the stock ECU.
I open the TODA ECU, I removed the kpro card, I modified the stock ECU and I put the kpro card, and for finish I upload Toda N2 rev4 .kal in this ECU in my car.

1 hour after, I put the kpro card(new kpro card) in my PRA ECU and my car idle is very bad.I thought the problem was my ECU was damaged.

My friend received the ECU 1 weeks days ago (with kpro card and Toda N2), and he has a bad idle.
I thought the problem was toda N2 .kal.But I tune his car 2 days ago on my dyno and the A/F was good, and the Ignition too, but only 130whp!!!!! with Toda N2 Kit !!!

It's very strange, but today I understand the problem
Today I received a NEW ECU with NEW K100 card and my car idle is bad too, and I have only 120whp!!!!

The problem it's not the kpro card, not my ECU, but my car and the friend's car.
I think since I put and he puts the TODA ECU, our car have a problem.
I check all fuse, and I don't have CEL on.
All sensor are fine.

What do you think??

I measure the coil Ignition, and the values are OK

To be sure I don't have a Coil Ignition problem or sparkplug problem, I remove one by one each Ignition coil
I remove my #1 and my idle is the same , I say COOL my problem is here, but NO
I remove my #2 Ignition coil and my idle is the same too :?:
I remove my #3 Ignition coil and my idle is the same too :?:
I remove my #4 Ignition coil and my idle is worse

After than I try to remove Injectors one by one, and I have the same result
If I remove the #1,#2,#3 injectors, my car idle is the same, but with the #4 my idle is worse

I put a NEW ECU today and this ECU worked fine a other 3rd car.
In my car I have a problem(120whp), my friend's car have the same problem(130whp) and our A/F is good and we have the same Ignition :?:

I am sure TODA ECU damaged something in my car and in the friend's car
I never saw that in my life.

The problem is solved.
The ECU bought from TODA damaged the 4th Ignition coil on the 2 cars.

I have a other problem :!:

With my K100 on my PRD ECU I don't have problem.
With my 2 KPRO card on my PRD ECU my revlimiter is 4000rpm
With my 2 KPRO card on my PRA ECU I don't have problem
With my K100 card on my PRA ECU I don't have problem

Here a movie where you can see my problem : MOVIE (you need DivX codec http://www.divx.com)

Here my .kal :calibration file

Here my datalog :datalog

The PRD ECU is from a JDM Civic Type R. The JDM Civic Type R doesn't have a VTEC oil pressure switch. You car does. The PRD ECU does not have the internal circitry to check the VTEC pressure switch. The ECU gets upset. There is an error code generated. This limits the engine to 4000 rpm. You can see this in the datalog. In the calibration disable the VTEC pressure check and peace and harmony will once again be restored to the world. BTW the video, calibration and datalog made diagnosing the problem easy - it would be nice if everyone provided as much information as you did.

Thank you from France , my PRD works fine ;) ;) ;)

I have a other question, why with PRD ECU the TPS doesn't move if my engine is not started ?

Sorry, no answer other than the ECU does not look at the TPS until the engine is running.

A other question

Why with my PRA ECU, my idle at 14.7 is very bad, and on my PRD ECU my idle at 14.7 is good ?

On my PRA ECU if I want a good idle I must to put 12:1 and disable close loop.

I am happy because my idle is good at 14.7 :D (on my AEM gauge)

ECT sensor on PRA and PRD are the same ??
With my PRA on Kmanager I see 80?C and my gauge ECT temp is normal
With my PRD on Kmanager I see 80?C and on my Gauge the temp is very HOT

For the ECT temp I don't understand something.
With PRA ECU on 2 differents cars, the ECT gauge is normal(1/3) until 100?C
With PRD ECU on 2 differents cars, the ECT gauge is normal(1/3) until 80?C , after the ECT gauge is a little hot (1/2) until 90? , and at 95?C the ECT gauge is 3/4.
