Datalogging JDM ITR - Reading wrong speed / gear?

Post by JayK »

Hi All,

Ive a JDM ITR K20a DC5. Ive put on a PRB KPRO and uploaded a base kal with breathing mods.

Did a 3rd gear pull and it was reading gear 2 instead of 3 and the speed of 2nd gear. So readying the wrong gears rather than the speed i guess.

Any help on this?

Thanks
Jay

In Parameters go to Gear Comp and make sure you select the correct gear ratios.

Just checked it and it had the following ratios in my current base map given to me.

[Gear Ratios]
; Gear ,Ratio
0=1,3.266
1=2,2.13
2=3,1.517
3=4,1.147
4=5,0.921
5=6,0.738
6=7,4.764

I then updated it with what was in the KPRO Gear Comp section to JDM Integra R and its this. But still showing the wrong gears.

[Gear Ratios]
; Gear ,Ratio
0=1,3.266
1=2,2.13
2=3,1.517
3=4,1.212
4=5,0.972
5=6,0.78
6=7,4.764

Also got P0134 Air Fuel Ratio Sensor Not Active now :(

Any ideas?

Have you uploaded the calibration with the changes?

Hi

Yes i did but remained the same. I asked on the UK ITR owners site and seems a common issue as our cars are imported from Japan, and changed to MPH, and a speed convertor is put in so something to do with that.

Thanks

Is the speed as read by KManager correct? (the units need to be correct too - if the speed in mph is correct but the units a kph, then you have a problem).

Its reads in MPH as it should. However its reading the wrong gears, when im 3rd its reading 2nd hence the speed is obviously going to read wrong.

it shouldnt no , cause there is no gear sensor. it calculates what gear your in using speed/revs/the gear ratio you have. or i assume anyways.

ok its just happen on 1st 2-3 sec on the datalog you could saw the ignition turn to -5 degree and the engine was miss fire there

when i unplug the speed sensor and provide constant speed in kpro every things will fine A/F will going back to 12.8-13.3 its only happen VSS was running/attach

Rather than start a new thread...I have the same/similar problem.

I have a 2001 JDM Integra Type R DC5 with a K20a.
In Japan the speedo reads KPH. When imported to the UK the speedo was converted to MPH.

When I'm traveling at 70MPH KManager reads 43MPH.

I am aware 43MPH = 70KPH

Have I simpley missed a setting within the sofware?

Cheers,
Ian

I can't test this just now but am I right in saying that in Sensor Setup the VSS should be set to KPH?
But I am wanting to display MPH in the graph and display? :?

i would check how the speedo converter is wired and modify the wiring so that kpro is seeing an 'unmodified' signal. if you cant see how to do that then just remove it and have your speedo in km until you figure it out.

if you have figured it out, let us know :D
