rad fan setting?

Post by consett_chris »

just had my car mapped a couple of weeks ago and have just noticed my rad fan stays on alot longer than normal is there any settings on kpro how to set the fan to come on etc

car is not overheating or anything!

not sure if its a setting on k pro or that my thermostatic fan switch is starting to play up and not telling car when to knock fan off

any help would be appreciated on how to set this up?

Under Protection tab there is a force fan option after it reaches a certain temp.
Maybe your car is running hotter than that setting.
Check it out and compare it to different calibrations.

does anybody no what the standard setting is?

i think it must be this as the fan was kicking in and out no problem in the rain yesterday but same problem on a warm day today.

update just checked my map and for some reason it was set to kick in at 177

i checked all the other civic maps pre loaded on k manager and they are all set at 204 so i have just re set it to this

can someone confirm this is a safe setting and what it is ment to be at??

cheers people

Does anyone know how to fix the Fans coming on when switching the ignition key to ON?

I mean the engine isn't even on and the radiator fans are coming on?

Check the wiring as it sounds like someone has bypassed the thermoswitch.
