Starting Problem

Post by stiffdogg06 »

Ok,

I was tuned on S300 last year. Car is a D16Y8 built block, gt30, 18psi, 880cc injectors... This year I decided to get the head fully built. Now I planned on running the car to get to the tuner on my last years tune. I knew I'd run lean because I am pushing more air with not as much fuel now... But here is my dilemma.

The car started the first crank on the old tune with the built head. Ran for 30mins to break the new camshaft in. I turned it off because the cooling fan wasn't kicking on (i haven't wired in my switch to manually control it myself yet)

Well I turn the car off, and then try to start it again... At the ON position I get a clicking main relay, a clicking cooling fan relay and a noise from the fuel pump... I've tried a new main relay (was a from a prelude but plugged right in). And it still is clicking...

The car will crank and crank but just won't start... I've got fuel and spark...

Could some part of the ECU be fried?

It sounds like your battery is dead or needs to be charged.

if the car has compression, fuel, air, and spark, it has to start.

will it start with 2+2? i had an issue with my 1200s where i needed to mess with cranking trim to get it to start.

just a thought.

Try the ECU on a known good vehicle.

It was the ECU. Some of the soldering joints broke/cracked. Did some re-soldering and she started right up... Thanks guys.
