Integra Crank no Start - S300

There appears to be some golden brown on the soldered joints instead of just silver solder color. A problem?

That is not a problem. Are you trying to use the s300 with J1 cut?

I dont know. I never resoldered it before sending it in. I cut J1 to make sure ECU was ok before sending it in for the upgrade. Now it looks like S300 board is blocking any view of it.

Wouldn't you guys fix J1 before installing S300?

The S300 board you installed is covering J1.

Carefully pull the s300 board out and check to see if J1 is cut.

Integra 96 GS-R.

SO the board just pulls directly off of the main board? I do not want to break it.

Yep, I like to grab it by the white plastic standoffs and pull up from there. It slides straight off the pins.

So it looks like there is a resistor installed in J1. When I sent this ECU in to upgrade there was a wire or something not a resistor there.

Is there supposed to be a resistor or a wire there now ?

Even though this looks like a resistor, it is simply a jumper. A single black strip means 0 ohm, or no resistance, which is the same as using a wire. Either will work. When you reinstall the S300, make sure that all the pins are lined up with the socket, and you aren't installing it one row of pins off.

Seems like S300 is not functioning. I press upload it seems to load the tune and disappears, not giving any confirmation that the tune has been uploaded I've been assuming this is normal.
I have no idea what is wrong all I know is somehow Hondata is not interacting with the computer correctly even though with J1 cut the ECU worked fine.
I just want to be sure what is wrong and at this point it diagnosis is an issue. The computer used to work fine on S200 until eventually the car started throwing check engine lights the car would shake quickly then run fine. Then it began to stall while driving and would not run or would not start at all, or would start but stall after 5 min.
Also after the S300 was used I drove the car 100 miles on a tune under boost but then it started stalling while driving again then eventually would start then stall quickly and now it will crank but not start (it will only provide spark with key in wrong position too).

It may be the ECU then, especially if it was acting up before the S300. I would recommend you at least borrow another ECU you can try the S300 in and see if that fixes it. You should be able to get another ECU for about $100, then have it socketed and have the capacitors replaced for another $100. I know it's $200 you probably don't want to spend, but it may fix your issue.

If it is the ECU it would seem that something has broken that causes it to interact with the S300 board incorrectly.

Pin pointing the cause might mean this ECU could be repaired right? I mean if I cut J1 it works fine so this tells me its the something that causes it to interact improperly with S300 in some way.

You need to try the s300 in a known working socketed ECU. This will tell you if it is the ECU or s300.

So there is no way to determine this other than just buying another ECU which I will have to go out on a limb and assume it has been socketed correctly etc.
Also there is no way I can determine if another ECU is good or not since the only method Hondata has offered is to cut J1 which has already been done. If I cut J1 on another ECU then it will be the same test performed on my allegedly bad ECU, a test my alleged bad ECU passed.
