Idling Problems when air-con is switched on

Post by delsol »

Im having idling problems when i switch on my air con. it idles fine when switched off but when its switched on.. it can idle up to over 2000 rpm.. i hav a b16a head n just recently put a b20 block on it and i was wondering if it has anything to do wit d fact that i need to have it the ECU and engine re-tuned?

i was thinking of getting the hondata s200 to help solve this problem.. cos its quite annoying that i can switch on my air con..

thanx

Is the AC compressor actually kicking on when it idles up or no? My car was doing this when I blew my AC condenser fan fuse...the engine would idle up when I turned on the AC but the compressor clutch was never engaging...so I was not blowing cold air and had a very high idle.

im dun kno much about air-con compressors n stuff.. so wots d diff between a condenser n a compressor? n should i take it the worshop where i get mechanical things done or an air-con speacialist to have it checked?

i also notice that a hose missing.. its supposedly d one that runs frm d back of d head to d stock air-filter funnel.. u think d prob is a vacuum problm? i remembered i did change something which was part of the throttle body.. its suppose to push d throttle a tiny bit when d air con is switched on.. without it d idling could go as low as 500.. n for a while it did solve d prob..

sometimes when i do switch on d air con.. and i cruise around for a while n then make a stop.. itll idle right up to over 2k rpm but in less then half a minute it idles back down to 800 rpm.. then after abt 10 secs.. idles back up..

wierd!
