on the hondata webpage there is a note saying one of the capaicitors is being replaced.

What is the reason for this ?

Is hondata sending our replacement for all ecu's purchased through them.

What are the specs of the new capacitor ?

and no they are not sending everyone who owns s300 a new cap, only from here on out are they replaced when socketed. common sense tells you that.

its nothing to do with the s300.

its to do with ECU's that hondata socket themselves or socket kits sent out.

I assume if they have a known issue, they would replace it, or at least tell people who have bought a socketed ecu from hondata the specs of capacitor so they can rectify themselves.

DID YOU NOT READ YET? jeez.

it is a capacitor in every honda ecu. it has nothing to do with hondata. they are just being nice enough to replace it while they install hondata for you... why you ask? because that capacitor has a expected life of 2000-5000 hours and most of our obd1 ecu's we use are around 25 years old!!
