Highway driving on low cam

Post by mladjan » Wed Jun 28, 2017 2:36 pm

I have supercharged fn2 (k20z4) with c38-81 charger. I have bov before throttle body, so when Im driving on highway, its not in boost. Bov will be closed only when I press accelerator.
I set higher vtec value to 4k rpm because when I drive on highway 125 km/h in 6th gear its around 4k rpm (low cam), and its still in closed loop.
The problem is that closed loop is doing correction to 14.7 but I feel (by sound) that engine needs more fuel on that rpm. When I press a pedal little bit and it starts getting fuel (open loop) it has healthy sound. How to affect on AFR in that condition? Any suggestions?

Attached latest calibration. Don't have log with long cruse but attached one where I have short part (after 4:30).

You can change the closed loop target lambda setting in the Lambda section of Closed loop in the calibration window. Then tune it accordingly.

True, but this will be for whole closed loop. For all rpm range.

Hi Mladjan,
try my adjustment if helps (calibration attached).
> I have adjust the WOT lambda low table at this range which you have noticed the issue.
Maybe you must adjust the fuel table a little bit in col. 6 to 8 (add 1 or 2% fuel)
@4000rpm the ECU jumps now into open loop to adjust better the fuel for your build.

Additional note: I have adjust the IAT compensation too - because you run really rich in WOT... 6% to rich @ 50+C° IAT!...

Hope it helps ;) - enjoy

I tried that, and even in that condition, its in closed loop. When t.pedal is constant, it goes into closed loop. How to keep the car in open loop in this particular case?

WOT table set to lambda 0.85 or lower
if lambda in this expected section of the table is 0.86 or higher it goes into closed loop
