2008 Si Sedan map suggestions please and thank you
Re: 2008 Si Sedan map suggestions please and thank you
I think I would like to go with your recommendation if you don't mind doing it. It should be easy enough for me to get those logs done at the specific cam angles. Would this round be easier for you so to speak being that you have done a lot of the work already?
I do have to do a highway drive for a couple hours on Monday. Also want to make sure the car will be ok for that drive. Thanks

Re: 2008 Si Sedan map suggestions please and thank you
I would prefer to do it the right way, it's just how I am programmed to do this stuff. So if you have the time, we should do it that way. Then if and when there is performance to be had with the cam angle mapping, we can utilize it. Similar to how we would use a dyno to tell us, the fuel tables help to give us an idea where the car is making the most power, which I would like to get for you so you can have the most fun with it.
We can certainly get it ready by Monday, granted you have time to make datalogs. We need to get through at least 5 revisions to get it to where we blend everything out, which makes it perfectly fine to drive on for Monday. One way or another we would have it ready before Monday no problem, so don't even sweat that.
Here is the first one. Back to the 0* cam angle with vtec at 5500. Same datalogs, 20-30 minutes in length with the third gear WOT pull from 2500-8600. I am using your basic fuel table from before as a based just smoothed out, so it should be pretty good off the start. But like before, we'll run through each cam angle and dial each one. I went back to some new ignition tables since the new intake might want more or less timing, again so we can get it as good possible for you.

If all goes as planned I should be able to get 5 runs done without too much issue. Thank you for the update. I should have a log uploaded by 9 tonight.

Sounds good, I'll keep an eye out for it.
Re: 2008 Si Sedan map suggestions please and thank you
Scratch that idea... I found a spot to do a WOT run after work. It is hot out today so hopefully that didn't affect anything too badly. Also noticed a number of knocks popped up during the run but I am not surprised by that. Thanks

Re: 2008 Si Sedan map suggestions please and thank you
Looks pretty good for a start. Yeah the knock is because I put the original ignition tables in it so we're tuning for your new setup. This new setup might like more timing, or different timing. I made some adjustments for that in this next one. Now same 0* cam angle with vtec at 4000. Same datalog and driving style.
Re: 2008 Si Sedan map suggestions please and thank you
Round 2 complete. A couple longer cruising sections on this one. Tried to make up for it though. Hope it is still ok. Did not see any knock. Havent looked at it otherwise. Getting late now...EFICU wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 5:06 pm Looks pretty good for a start. Yeah the knock is because I put the original ignition tables in it so we're tuning for your new setup. Re: 2008 Si Sedan map suggestions please and thank you
It's looking good. No knock which is great. It does seem to like a little more ignition with the new setup, hopefully it yields you some more power to help with the elevation some. We will move onto the 15* cam angle now with vtec at 4500. Same datalog and driving style, we'll see how it looks.
Re: 2008 Si Sedan map suggestions please and thank you
Got this one done before work this morning. Couple knocks. I think I may have caused one byt having too low of RPM again leaving a light. Oops. The other I noticed was on the WOT run.EFICU wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 10:30 pm It's looking good. No knock which is great. Re: 2008 Si Sedan map suggestions please and thank you
Looking good. It wanted a lot more fuel for the WOT operations which is good to see. The knock was fairly normal and in the normal areas, so nothing to worry about there. We would rather find them in the tuning process anyways, so that is good.
Onto the next one, 30* cam angle with vtec still at 4500. We probably will only need one more revision after this one for cam angle locking, so we're getting close and I don't see any issues with not having you ready for Monday at all.
Same datalog and driving style.

Thank you for the quick turn around. I don't want to seem like I'm rushing you at all. Greatly appreciate all you have done. I should have the next log up in a few hours. Thank you.EFICU wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 10:46 am Looking good. It wanted a lot more fuel for the WOT operations which is good to see. No not all, you're all good. We'll see how it looks when you get the next one.
Re: 2008 Si Sedan map suggestions please and thank you
Got #4 done after work. Quite a few knocks on the WOT run between 7600 and rev cut. If you need me to redo this one I can.

Re: 2008 Si Sedan map suggestions please and thank you
Looks really good. Yeah the knock was right near redline where it seems to be sensitive on all your cam angles, and is common for 91. I went ahead and pulled some out in that area for this next one the 40* cam angle. Other than that, it looks like it's liking the new intake. It still wanted quite a bit more fuel in vtec, but this 40* cam angle it will probably run out of breath a little since we don't have any exhaust mods. But still pretty good for what you have. We'll see how it looks, and the next one we will blend everything out and see what we get. For now, here is the 40* cam, same datalog and driving style.
Re: 2008 Si Sedan map suggestions please and thank you
I definitely felt what you said about it running out of breath. Its just so interesting how the cam angle will affect the performance of the engine. I also noticed when we were doing the 0* cam angle map how loud the intake was at 6000rpm or so but not quite as much on the other angles. Or maybe it was just the sound rebounding off the curbing... Either way it was loud.EFICU wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 3:43 pm Looks really good. Yeah the knock was right near redline where it seems to be sensitive on all your cam angles, and is common for 91. There is a longer cruising section on this log. I kept getting green lights so there is not a lot of stop and go. It is a bit longer than usual as well.
