Calibration does not match ECU type

Post by Furious »

Hi,
my friend bought used Hondata FP-SI-INT-20244 for the car Civc Si 2008/2009 FA5 with ECU code 37820-RRB-A14.
The previous owner of this Hondata used it in Civic Si 2006.
When we try to lock hondata to vehicle there is warning:
"The calibration in this ECU (Civic Si 2006) does not match the ECU Type (FG2/FA5 Civic Si 2007-2011). If this ECU is returned to stock then the existing calibration will be lost".

Is that ok? What does it mean exacly? There will be problem returning ECU to stock on this Hondata?
We are from Europe.. and hondata is from European Dealer as far as I know.
Thanks!

It is a 2008 ECU with a 2006 program in it. FlashPro will return to stock as a 2008 ECU, not the 2006.

You haven't said what vehicle you have, but given it is a US FlashPro & US ECU, but you are in Europe, I'd guess it is a FN2.

How did the vehicle end up in Europe? Can you give the whole story and all the information to stop this back and forward?

Civic was imported from US, but I dont know why it is so important..
Can you clearly say if this Hondata will work on this vehicle?

Ok, then my first post was correct. It is a 2008 ECU which appears to have a 2006 program in it. A return to stock will put the 2008 stock calibration back in. Without knowing exactly what was done in the past I can't say why it has a 2006 program in it. The only thing to be careful with is that there are reflashed ECUs which brick after being re-programmed again, hence the importance of knowing what happened in the past.

IF the ECU is reflashed by someone else and it gets bricked you will need to get a new ECU and send the damaged ECU with FlashPro in to be unlocked.

I have information from previous (first) owner of this car, and he is saying that this car/ECU never was flashed/remaped or sth.
I`am using FlashProManager version 1.8.3
