Weird timing in stock tuned base map?

Post by bonylad »

I am using the stock tuned base map on my 07 FA5. Only changes are vtec engagement point tweaks, enable afm tuning, throttle 1:1 corrections and thats basically it. I have not tuned timing nor fuel. I am not on a dyno nor have a wideband so I am disinclined to blindly tweak that mess. I was looking at the high and low timing maps and saw this. From my HP Tuners experience I have been taught that the timing should be a smooth curve. This is not in that area. Before I change it, I wanted the communities POV. I am not fully versed in the VTC and how it plays a role with the iVtec and so on - especially with timing. So. I attached some snaps of the map and the graph in question. Specifically columns 1 and 2 - 1-2K RPMS.

Thoughts? Thank you for your time!

That's the stock timing from Honda. It does not matter because at that point the ECU will switch to ignition controlled idle calculations and not follow the ignition table.
