FN2 - RC750cc - S-Trim-Tuning!

Post by R-12914 »

Hi Hondata,

a few days ago, i have tuned my RC750cc Injectors.
I have tuned the S-Trim.
10-15°C at outside.
AC/Radio/Light are always "on".

The result is like this on a datalog (2.3.7.0):

And now and a few days ago, i have made a new datalog.
20-25°C at outside.
AC/Radio/Light are always "on".

The result is like this on a datalog (2.3.9.0):

Why do I have such enormous variations at once (ups/downs), although I have not changed?
Before, the XY-graph was nice and smooth!

Please can you help me?

Try breaking the datalog down into sections and see if there is a pattern with heat or driving conditions. RCs have a poor spray pattern and my cars improved a lot going to the EV14 style injectors.

Hi Hondata,

I am not sure if this is working as designed. (Using latest version of the FP Manager 2.4.1.0)
In hot conditions if the compensation tables will retard the ignition in result the engine runs lean. Is that normal?
Or it is this the characteristics of the RC injectors if running hot.

To prevent the lean condition in my S/C calibration in hot sommer days I do the follwing:
I adjusted the Water temperature ECT hot retard low (all nulled) and high (nulled until 100C°) + ignition IAT (high) (until 55C°) values.
Active parameter of the IAT ignition comp: Ignition IAT retard applied to ignition knock limit

Understanding until now:
If the engine will be retarded (positive values entered in the compensation tables) the S.TRIM shows a richer condition to cool the engine.
Please correct me if I am wrong because it does not do this as expected.

Regards

The ignition timing should not have any effect on the lambda. With superchargers the most likely problem is that the IAT sensor is not measuring the air temperature as it goes into the cylinder.

For example:
If I retard the cylinder trim (-1) the s.trim vs afm.c shows lean and it must be recalibrated the afm-fuel.
I will show you tomorrow.

Here is my final tuning.
The XY graph shows a perfect line also in warm conditions. Unfortunatly we have summer time so it would be interesting in colder (winter) temperatures.

My final cal

Please note:
In the log file you can see that the RC750 injectors under heavy load (best to see in high gears (WOT in gear 4, 5, 6) running rich. I can also feel lost of power. In low gear the target WOT lambda is OK ~0,81 (unfortuantely not always - its varies from day to day) - new set of injectors coming soon. Fuel retune is necessary...
The new O2 pri sensor measuring the same rich mixture like the old one... Spark plugs also changed to a brand new set but the old one looking also fine... ;-) valve lash checked 3 times. All perfect.
