L-Trim Disable request on MAF calibrations.

Post by civicRSA »

On the South African Civic Type-R MAF calibrations, L-Trim has always been disabled right from when the ecu was first supported.

My request is, will it be possible to do this for Euro Civic Type-R MAF calibrations? Even better could you add an option to disable/enable L-Trim?

I have not found a good enough reason to request this before but lately with new MAP fuel tables for the MAF calibrations it can be rather frustrating and S-Trims vary a lot from day to day.
More importantly at WOT the AFR can also vary with an L-Trim that keeps adjusting.

We did not disable the long term fuel trim on any of the AFM calibrations. Are you thinking of the race calibration, which does have long term fuel trim disabled?

I guarantee you on every single South African Civic Type-R (FN2) that I have tuned on a AFM calibration L-Trim has never worked.
I only mentioned it once to Doug a few months ago but I never pursued it as I prefer to tune with L-Trim Disabled.
Note that I did try this with the secondary O2 sensor on and off.

I am attaching 2 calibrations and 2 datalogs. note the dates. This is one of the first cars I tuned and one of the last. The latest calibration /datalog is from a AFM Hybrid tune. The hundreds of AFM calibrations I have between those and on all releases of FPM, L-Trim has never worked on this vehicle.

Also note that L-Trim always works on the Euro Civic Type-R AFM calibrations.

Then the long term fuel trim might be disabled on the stock ECU. If you can return to stock and do a quick datalog it would verify this.

Confirmed. With return to stock L-Trim is still not working.
This is really strange.
Anyway would you be able to add this option into the Euro Type-R AFM calibrations? It is going to help a lot with the new hybrid tuning method.

Some ECUs do not support long term fuel trim - the JDM and (now) the SA ECUs. I really don't find that the long term fuel trim is that useful.
