Cannot return to stock? 2016 Civic 1.5T

Post by Syntek »

Have a huge problem right now. I'm trying to return my car back to stock before I take it in to Honda so they can do the recall update on my 2016 1.5T. before I did that, I updated the flashpro to the latest version.

However, when I tried the return to stock option, I was greeted with a "you cannot upload a 'Unknown' calibration to a '1.5T US 2017 CVT' flashpro.

I then attempted to upload a tune to my car just to rule out nothing was wrong with the flashpro and now the car turns on but acts like it's uploading a tune. (all warning errors light up, all the gear letters are lit up) but the car turns on.

I need to return the car back to stock and I can't and now apparently any tune I upload, all the warning lights come on after it's done flashing. Any suggestions?

Update:

The car is in limp mode. And will not accelerate past 3,000 RPM.

I checked the codes out of curiosity and I'm greeted with this.

I tried also uploading a fresh tuned basemap with the same results and issues. Car is basically undrivable now.

This is a transmission mismatch error meaning that your transmission controller needs an update from Honda. You should still be able to drive the car with the transmission mismatch error.

Is there anyway to revert back the flashpro to an earlier version to upload an older tune and be able to revert the car back to stock? I personally don't want to take the car to Honda in this way and have them tell me they're unable to do anything due to flashing a calibration and possibly having to pay out of pocket for it. Had I known that updating the flashpro would break the compatibility I would have held off on updating it.

No there is no way to go back to prior software. Even if you return to stock when we update the software tomorrow you will return to the updated file from Honda and will still have the transmission controller mismatch.

So in case the dealer can't do the recall update on my car for whatever reason, what then? I have to call my dealer and double check if my VIN is even compatible for the update.

Quick update. Apparently my dealer has no idea of this update for the 2016 Civic. I'm located in Los Angeles. Is it possible this update is a regional thing only? What now?

Can I get an update on this? I can't be the only one wondering whats going on with people affected by not being able to update the TCM.
