Cam ignition table help please

So learning through the course and enjoying it very much.

Watching through the hondata worked example and I can't see why when we tune the ignition on the low speed cam map we still tune the high rpm sights as by that point you've switched cam and are running on the high speed map? Help me understand it better please lads

You can do it that way. You don't exactly need to tune it .. but what if your vtec solenoid stops working and car doesnt go in to high cam. And you lean out bad ? Its just a fail safe to tune as much as you can

@spunkster.... I was asking why there are above above let's say 6000rpm on the low cam map when at 6000rpm we would have switched to high cam by then

Because you can be on the low cam at higher RPM if you are not at wide open throttle.

Yeh I think I get it now...as there are 2 vtec "windows" one for low load high rpm and One for high load low rpm it may end up using those sights if on light throttle high rpm??
