Good day,

Will there be support for South African S2000's.

Our vehicles are identical to that of the EURO Spec. DBW f20c.

The only difference I have noticed is on the last 3 chars of the ecu, eurospec being 37820 - pcx - g11 to 37820 - pcx - g16 and south africa 37820 - pcx - u01 to 37820 - pcx - u16.

I really want to purchase the flashpro for my 2008 DBW s2000.

What other options do I have to get a flashpro to work with my vehicle.

Regards

Nitesh.

Can anyone help with this, or point me in the right direction?

Any help will be appreciated.

The U16 ECU is not supported, and it is unlikely that we will do so.
Your only option is to switch to a G ECU, but we cannot guarantee that will work without error codes or other problems.

Hi,

There is a lot of interest in South Africa.

Is/Will there be support for 37820 - pcx - u08 ecu. (Should you require a pic I will gladly email)
I have a 2008 s2000 with that ecu, essentially it is similar to 2008 UK s2000 ,i.e. f20c dbw.

I can only think that the ECU number is encoded either into the dongle or the software itself, and that it can't be such a big change to include the South African numbers into that code.

Some Honda S2000 fans have gone to the extent of importing US ecu's and buying the US flashpro.(this hasn't been a smooth sailing approach)

I am contemplating importing a UK ecu, but don't want to go through the trouble of re coding transponder keys.
(Also I am uncertain if local Honda dealer can re code an import ecu. - I haven't got a definitive answer regarding this from local Honda dealers)

Some have given up and are using haltech, AEM, uni q etc

Your assistance will greatly appreciated.

South African s2000 fans will really like to see that the Hondata support is alive in our country.

Please let us know.

Regards

Nitesh.

It would really be great if Hondata could support our South African ecus. There are many of us s2000 owners here.

I don't think you understand. All ECUs are different. Supporting a new ECU is not just simply flipping a switch - it requires the whole process of identifying tables and making changes to the ECU code to be performed.

Good day,

I know there is a significant amount of change required for a new ecu.

I have contacted my local Honda dealer, and asked for a cost and replacement part number of the ECU based on my VIN, and the part number I was given was for a UKDM ECU, as the International ECU's have been discontinued. Replacement ECU part number 37820 - pcx - g14, which is the UKDM part number which works with the flashpro. Existing ECU part number 37820 - pcx - u08.

What I was pointing to at the time, was that UKDM and South African DM(international ECU) are the same. I am basing this on the replacement ecu part number given to me by the local Honda dealer.

However I have since gone through the process of ordering a used USDM DBW ECU, part number 37820 - pzx - a14, once this arrives, I will then order the Flashpro for the US ECU.

Hope the information above helps any international S2000 owners in the future.

Regards

Nitesh
