Need help setting up

Post by Adm_rsx »

I bought and installed TC. And I uploaded the rsx kal. Fixed the drive wheels ect. But the target slip rates from your factory tune are In between 1-8%. (Straight slip). What are optimum ranges to start out with. I know every car and tire setup will be different but my car is completely falling on its face with these settings as is using just street tires and that's while holding 100% WOT. car refuses to pull forward.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Adam.

Wet 3-4%, dry 5-8% for a street car.

However, it seems like there are more issues. Can you make a datalog from the traction control and post it here?

Yes I will take a datalog tonight. And try and get it posted here tonight as well. Thank you.

So I found out why it falls on its face but I've encountered a new problem.

It fell on its face at WOT because of the over slip rev limiter. I upped the percentage and were in the clear. But now I can't read view or save the traction control datalog. I record 10-20 seconds worth an hit "read datalog" but all it does is say downloading and then nothing else after its finished. I assume the graph is supposed to show below but it never shows.

You possibly need to stop datalogging on the KPro before downloading from the TC.

So should I unplug kpro from my laptop and try data logging?

But I do know that the car falls on its face at WOT when it reaches about 6k rpm. And my wideband will go lean. So my lean protections kicking on but I'm not sure why.

Start by posting the KPro calibration and TC calibration here.

Next make a datalog from KPro of the problem.

So now when the car is in a low rpm (ie. taking off from a light, normal driving not launching) the car hits a rev limiter almost. It's shooting my wideband to "---" so full lean and it will not allow me to accelerate. All this is while the TC switch is on position 1. But if I turn it off, problem vanishes. Are these perhaps symptoms of the switch in on the motherboard/brain being in the wrong position? I just don't know what to do and the unit is not performing at all like videos and testimonies say it does. I know it will work but I'm at a loss for the solution.

i assume my cornering settings may be too low.

TC should not operate at such low rpm and loads as you are seeing.

First I would check each wheel speed sensor by jacking the car up and spinning each wheel in turn.

Next reset the cornering slip compensation in the traction control window to that of a RSX.

Then do some slow driving and check that the TC 'drive slip' is less than 1% while driving in a straight line and doing some turns in each direction.

Set the minimum speed higher (at least 10 mph).

Then set the target slip to 6%, both straight and cornering, and make a datalog at 30-40 mph. 10 mph doesn't have the resolution.

Great thank you for the much needed info. I'll do those things over the next few days.
