2015 civic si sedan

Post by Edward12 »

I have a hondata flashpro with a 3” Injen CAI and everything else is stock. I have tried some of the base map, but it is showing some knock count. Is there another base map that will be better? I daily my car and don’t plan to go crazy with it just yet.

Most all of the base maps will show knock as they are just a starting point. Even the stock tune can have knock.

I can help you with it if you want some help. If you're happy with the way it drives, I can help you clean up the tune and remove the knock. Or we can start on one of my files and make it even better. Generally takes about 7-10 files to get it dialed in.

Let me know if you want some help.

Yes I would like some help with cleaning up the tune so I can drive it . If you would like to send a tune we can start from there. The tune I have on right now is the MAF tune. I can do a datalog with that one if you’d like.Let me know what will be best for you.

Sounds good. Do you have time to go through 7-10 revisions, or are you trying to get it done within a couple files? The long version tunes all cam angles individually, which would set a good base for you as you add more modifications, not to mention it's the proper way to do it.

I do have time to do the revisions tomorrow or over a couple days. Is there a charge for this? I just want to be able to drive the car for now until I do FBO

Sounds good. I don't generally charge guys on the forum, I just tell them if you're happy at the end and want to throw a few bucks my way that's great, if not that's fine too.

The datalogging process is the most important. We want twenty minute(ish) datalogs of you driving on the street, signal light to signal light type driving. That populates more data than steady speed highway/freeway driving. On your drive, make one wide open throttle (WOT) pull in third gear from 2500-7600 rpms so we can see the WOT fueling. Don't get too spirited in the driving here on this first file, make a nice twenty minute datalog of you driving and the one WOT pull in third so we can see how it all looks. This one will be the 0* cam angle with vtec at 4300. The 0* cam angle is the least powerful, so don't worry about the lack of power, it's just a base to get us started in this first file.

Also, let me know what octane fuel you run and roughly where you're located.

Here is the first file for you. Let me know if you have any questions.

Sounds good. Small world, I'm in the Sacramento area too. We could just tune it in person, haha. Maybe when you get your bolt-ons done we can clean it up in an afternoon. If you do want to tune it in person now just let me know, we can knock it out in a few hours. Totally up to you though.

Looks really good for a start. WOT fueling was a little off, which is to be expected, but it will be a lot closer on this one. Now we will move to the 15* cam angle, same type of drive and datalog, normal driving with one WOT pull in third gear from 2500-7600.

Not bad, it definitely likes each cam angle change and demands more fuel, which is good. That one had some knock because I bypassed the knock control to see ignition without interference. I made some changes for that, and adjusted the fueling. Here is the next one, 30* cam angle on this one. One or two more revisions and we begin to work on blending everything out so you can begin to see what it's like. It's a little warm out today, when it cools down you'll really feel it come to life once we start blending out the cam angle map and stuff.

Alright, it doesn't look like the 40* cam angle is going to usable with just the intake as a mod. So now we'll work on blending everything out and see how it looks. This one has the cam angles blended out so you can get a feel for it, vtec is at 5500 so I can tune the area around vtec. It's looking like it will be near 4400 or so in the final version, but for now it's at 5500 in this revision. Take it for a spin and we'll see how it looks.
