Hi
ive got hondata stage 4b installed on my comp
I cant seem to connect with my laptop using version 2.5 rom editor
im using a usb - serial adapter
it just keeps telling me error connecting
any ideas?

i had a problem initially with that. i cleared and then reinstalled the usb--serial drivers and didn't have any problems after that.

also make sure that you have the correct COM port selected in the settings menu in hondalogger.

mine was com4

i believe he is talking about the driver that runs the adapter.

that's correct... there is a disk that comes w/ the usb-->serial cable. i actually got mine directly from hondata for like 35 or 40 bucks.

$35, free shipping...

Remember to install the drivers it comes with. (I downloaded the latest driver just to be sure it was up to date.) Depending on your laptop, you can look under the Control Panel settings and it should show the Keyspan adapter and what COM port it was assigned by Windows. (Mine happen to be assigned COM 4 also.)

I tested it out and sure enough it works flawless! Cant go wrong for $35!
