The head unit runs Android. An iphone has nothing to do with this.

Running Hondata Mobile on your radio/navi

Post by jeffmo1129 »

So I had a 2017 Si and this process worked out great... now I have a 2019 and there's no Menu button to hit to get to the settings once you're in developer mode. Anyone know what buttons to hit? Thanks!

Hello,

I installed the app in my 2017 Type R yesterday. Everything rooted fine, the app installed without any issues and connected to my flashpro. My issue that I’m having with the app is when I release the parking brake, I get a message saying it can’t be used while the vehicle is in motion. Did I make a mistake somewhere with the rooting/ app install (seemed pretty straight forward) or will the Honda safety feature not let anyone run this while the car is moving?

Thank you.

In the rooting process a whitelist is changed that disables that message. How did you root the radio?

I rooted it using HondaHack and following the instructions in the Hondata YouTube video. Everything rooted fine and then I just installed the mobile app with a USB flash drive. Should I just follow the rooting steps and root the radio again?

You might have to disable the parking brake check using Honda Hack. I can check later today.

In Honda Hack there in an option to bypass the parking brake, which installs an android service. I can't remember needing to explicitly click on it, but try it.

Problem solved! Just had to go into HondaHack settings and toggle it to “on”. Everything works perfectly now

Is there any way to remove the app and/or root after it's been installed?

You should be able to do a factory reset of the headunit.
