New jaibroken ECU and key/start question

Post by HostileFk8 »

I bought a new ECU from Honda and had it jailbroken by Hondata to use with the tuner about a year and a half ago. Reason being is that I wanted to keep my stock ECU unmolested. I never got to install it because the car was totaled. I’m in the process of selling the jailbroken ECU and Hondata tuner but was told that if I sell the ECU the person installing it will have to reset the key to the ECU. I want to know if this is true. Thanks in advance.

It will need the immobilizer matched and the VIN set. If the FlashPro is locked to that ECU then make sure that the FlashPro is unlocked before you do anything.

Only a Honda dealer would be able to match the key and immobilizer. I do not believe that the VIN can be rewritten.
