My 2003 si ran fine when it was parked in June and when I started it up after 4 months of being parked it was idling between 2000 and 3000 Rpms up and down every couple seconds. Now it idles at a steady 1800 rpm. What would cause this it sat in warm weather for a couple months. It's drivable but annoying. The car is bone stock with 184,000 miles.
I'm guessing a vacuum hose somewhere has split and is allowing extra air in, or the thermo valve on the cylinder head water exit has jammed open.
I cleaned the throttle body and mass airflow with a spray cleaner and a full tank of premium and a Lucas upper cylinder lubracant and drove 30 or 40 miles and it runs mint again like the day I parked it
