2018 Accord Rev hang disable issue
2018 Accord Rev hang disable issue
Has anyone else tried the Rev hang disable on the 10th gen Accord 1.5t?
I tried it out the other day and, with it disabled, the car wouldn't hold cruise speed. It would allow me to activate cruise and set a speed, it would also attempt to hold the speed but it felt like something was holding it back from actually keeping the set speed. Example, if I set it at 70, it would struggle to hold it around 65. But then, if you add a small input to the throttle pedal (1-5%), it would do it like there was no problem. Once I flashed it back to the base tune (I'm running stage 3), everything went back to normal. It almost felt like the throttle plate would close completely when you let off the pedal, even though the cruise was set, then the amount of fuel injected for the air charge was not enough to keep up.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a known issue with Hondata? I tried emailing someone at Hondata and have yet to receive a response

Re: 2018 Accord Rev hang disable issue
I have this issue on the 1.5T Civic Sport.
I have found that using the actual rev hang mod or checkbox will mess up cruise control pretty badly, but if you manually change the stock values down to the minimum (10) in all gears but keep overrun enabled, the rev hang is way better than stock, and cruise still is responsive.
Hope this helps.

I have forwarded this information to our software engineers.
Re: 2018 Accord Rev hang disable issue
Zac,
Not sure if the Civic calibrations allow changes in more parameters than the Accord ones. Do you mean you minimize the fuel overrun?
I'm pretty sure that checkbox for the Rev hang deals with the throttle plate overrun. I could be wrong though. I'll give it a shot with the fuel overrun numbers to make due, but would still like to hear something from Hondata about it
Spunkster, thank you for forwarding. Please keep us in the loop if possible.

Re: 2018 Accord Rev hang disable issue
Do you have hondata mode on your application using an econ button? If so, do you notice high boost levels in both settings? I am having this issue along with your issues on 2017 civic sport. Thanks
Re: 2018 Accord Rev hang disable issue
Yes, I have Hondata mode on but I only get the high boost map with econ turned off.asgroi9399 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 5:51 am Do you have hondata mode on your application using an econ button? HMMM I just started my own thread on the issue I am having. Hopefully I'll figure something out. Thanks for the responseajgarcia wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 7:28 amYes, I have Hondata mode on but I only get the high boost map with econ turned off.asgroi9399 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 5:51 am Do you have hondata mode on your application using an econ button? Re: 2018 Accord Rev hang disable issue
Bump.
I'm having this issue on my 2018 Si with +6 tune. On steeper hills at highway speeds the cruise control is unable to maintain speed. I've had it from from 74 to ~68 without it making any corrections. And like the above user said if I lightly rest my foot on the throttle ( <5% TPS) it will kick in and accelerate back up to speed. The information on the hondata website for rev hang tuning is different than the screen I see for my 2018 Si so I am unsure of what to try and edit to fix this issue.

Re: 2018 Accord Rev hang disable issue
Bump.
I saw in the most recent update that they correct a cruise issue with the 2.0 Accords, but my 1.5 is still having the same issue. Upon looking at the datalogs (and I'm no expert) it looks like the throttle plate is closing to about 16-18% when off pedal and cruise is on. Comparing it with the overhang enabled, the throttle plate stays at about 32-35% off pedal with cruise on. Not sure if this was the same issue with the 2.0s but it is still there with the 1.5.

Re: 2018 Accord Rev hang disable issue
Please post your calibration and a Datalog of the before and after.
Re: 2018 Accord Rev hang disable issue
Attached here. The only difference from the stage 3 tune was the rev hang disable, and datalog 4 is with it turned off. If these do not work, let me know so I can redo the before and after (on/off)

Re: 2018 Accord Rev hang disable issue
I have almost the same issue.
Cruise control doesn't work at all with rev hang disabled. It will be on for 30 seconds ish. Car will slow down and Cruise control light will turn off.

Re: 2018 Accord Rev hang disable issue
I re-tested cruise control with Hondata 3.4.0.0.
Cruise control does not work with Stage2 tune and Rev hang disabled. TPlate will vary from 15%-22% and not hold the speed.
It seems that the control for throttle plate opening is not aggressive enough.
How to repro
1. set cruise to 80 no cars in front of me
2. lift foot off throttle.
3. Car will gently slow down
4. Cruise light flashes and may go off.
See attached tune and Log of event.
2018 Honda Accord 1.5T
Stage2 Tune - Rev hang disabled - scramble disabled - use Map to determine WOT - Slight AF adjustment - Slight boost adjustment
PRL downpipe catted - PRL intercooler - PRL intake piping and drop in filter - Clutch Masters Light weight Flywheel - FX400 clutch sprung
Hondata - FP-ACRD-US-170206

Please download the most recent beta version and see if that resolves the issue.
