s300 install issues

Post by b18boomer »

okay,i installed my s300v3 into my p72 ecu.also replaced c14, clipped j12,added the jumper into j1.so after installing my board in the ecu i went to turn the ignition on and i cant upload.i can download my map from my previous ecu but that's it.it has D4 solid led, d3 turns on but then turns off after the fuel priming.weird part is it started in limp mode, but now it wont start at all.i re flowed all the pins to make sure there wasn't a short and im becoming lost to what im gonna do. i was wondering if it was possible to send it to you guys to see if i missed something.

Post a picture of the soldering on the bottom of the ECU. Make sure it is high resolution and in focus.

Did you replace all the Capacitors or just one?

So are you saying that it does not crank at all?

It cranks over.but its like it wont take an upload or let me see anything because im certain that the calibration is causing the limp mode.the hondata board passed all the Smanager tests.but it just wont let me do anything. It was starting before.i reflowed the pins to just make sure but now nothing.but out of curiousity.would a rocker switch set up stop the hondata from turning on at all.

i have my ignition all on switches.but i never changed anything of the setup since i added the hondata.i had a chipped p06 before but it worked with said switch setup.unless the hondata is pulling more power than the chipped p06.but i still hear my main relay. and everything.sorry im just trying to figure out some possible reasons.everything on the board to me seems proper.

I would recommend that you try your ECU on a known working vehicle and see if it will start and run with their calibration uploaded to your ECU.

You can also try your S300 in their ECU with their calibration uploaded to it.

I’m having the same issues, the car ran fine and I parked it. I took out my amp and sub from the car. Went to try and turn it on a didn’t start after. I’ve tried diffrent main relays. Looked for a bad fuse and haven’t been able to find a bad one. I tried a entirely different ecu and same thing. D3 comes on but then shuts off and on the laptop it says online but then all of readings are off. Tps says -15% and coolant temp says 302. It has a check engine light but no codes pop up on the laptop

I was having the same issues after I replaced my capacitors, at first it wouldn’t start, I went back and double checked the solder joints on the capacitor positive lead and added solder to top side of board too to make sure it had good connections. Plugged s300 back it would prime and start but go straight to rich limp mode with solid cel. Connected laptop it shows driver installed and online. But couldn’t load or make changes. Come to find out the pins for the usb part on the s300 was not seated on the pins at all. I just so happen to look thru the usb hole I had cut out in the ecu casing and saw that the pins weren’t not in. Took the s300 off and made sure all pins were lined up and seated and magic works like it should again
