VSS in an AUTO rsx ecu.

Post by Conner_h5 »

Hello all.
Is there anywhere I can find directions on how to convert my CSS to VSS?
I have a k24a swap 1997 integra with a ktuned tucked engine harness and conversion harness with a 02-04 AUTO rsx ecu. I understand for the gauge to get a reading, I’ll need a converter, but right now I just want my ecu to be able to read speed. I also know that the process is different when using an auto ecu like me.
Thanks!

Since I’m using a rsx engine harness but have a countershaft speed sensor (tsx 6speed MT) , do I still need to repin the wires on the engine harness side/vss plus side?

Yes you will still need to do this.

Just wanted to give an update.
repined the VSS plug on my RSX type s harness to suit the CSS in the transmission, plugged in the connector you guys included with the kpro4, connected the red wire to the corresponding vss signal wire (mine is purple as I’m using a ktuned tucked swap harness) I even tested the leads and wires. Ground was good, power wire read 12v, and signal wire read around 5.10v.
While driving with Kpro connected, my vss still isn’t reading, it just reads 0mph and after driving a little while, I get a vss code.
Not sure if this is corresponding, but I’m also limited to 2k rpm’s both in idle and seemingly every gear. Every time I try to exceed 2k rpm’s, it sputters horribly, but eventually I get past 2k rpm’s but the car isn’t running good. Just thought I’d add this in.
Any response helps, thanks!!!

Post the calibration you are using as well as a datalog showing the issue.

Here is an updated data log of me just sitting at idle and revving to test for problem.

You do not have the alternate input set in the calibration as you need to when using an Auto ECU.

Make sure you follow the instructions at: https://hondata.com/tech-alternative-ecu-engine-swap

Sorry about that. The only reason I selected the countershaft driven sensor is because I saw a post of someone with a similar issue as me and he had countershaft driven speed sensor selected. I thought that either selection would work

After changing the speed sensor unit in kpro to the values according to the directions, I still get no vss reading in my “sensors’ tab while my laptop is connected and I’m driving. It just reads 0. My Spedomdter on my dash also has no reading, I know that without a converter, my dash reading will bounce all over the place. However mine still just sits at 0 and doesn’t bounce around like how it should if everything is connected properly.
Any ideas on what to look for next?
