Supercharged E85 Tuning?

Post by leoldenb »

What are the recommended air fuel ratios for tuning an engine on E85 with forced induction?

A/F ratio is the same as pump gas. Ethanol contains more inbound oxygen, and you will find it take about 30% more fuel to reach the same A/F.
thank you, thank you, I'm here all week

Yeah, A/F ratios will be the same as what you would with regular gas, but you can usually lean it out quite a bit at cruising for better gas milage. I was running mine in the high 15's, low 16's when cruising with no problems.

I would encourage you to use Lambda on tuning with e85. Depending on climate and e85 mix the injector will take 30-40% more fuel. It also will require timing advance in the neighborhood of 4-5 degrees.

Just a base/rule of thumb, please have your tuner check everything out.
