Suggestions for B16a2 Basemap

Post by creizlein »

Hello everyone, I just got my s300 with a p28 OBD1 ecu
This is going to be installed in a 1999 Honda Civic wth b16a2 Engine and the following mods:
  • 70mm Throttle Body + PowerChamber Intake
  • Skunk2 Pro Intake Manifold
  • Stock 240cc Injectors, with stock fuel rial.
  • Toda v2 Try-Y Header
  • 2.5 inch catback exhaust
  • Tuner Stage 1 sk2 Cams
Having those mentioned mods in mind, which would be a good basemap to start the car with and then tune from there?

I would start with the b16 hondata basemap. If you have a wideband adjust afr to spec.

Thanks for your reply zPerformance, so you recommend start with the JDM P30 B16A? Or the US P30 Del Sol B16?
Stock ecu is JDM P2T B16a2

I am just getting started with this, but i already saw some of your maps on other threads, looks like you know what you are doing :)
Would you recommend the base map over this? https://www.hondata.com/forum/viewtopic ... 20&t=19847

Last but not least, I do have the wideband in place, but what does you guys mean by "adjust to spec"? Sorry if dumb question but again I’m just starting with these slangs...

I would run the jdm p30 since the timing map is slightly lower, which will be a slightly safer too drive until you get it tuned.

The hyperlink map that you post will not work for your vehicle because the car have bigger injectors. You will have problem with that map on your car.

Idle 14.7, try hitting 14.2-14.9, Daily portion. half throttle 13.5-14 full throttle 12.8-13.5
- I like to tune my vehicle slightly richer just to be on the safe side. Hope that answer most of your question

After much delays I finally got hands into this, and have to tell the first impressions are that the jdm-p30 basemap is wayyy to rich, I had to reduce a 5% overall on the whole map and then start to work from there but I already ended up moving some cells way below 15-20% and i believe i am creating lots of spikes

I also found that aiming for 13.5 starting at 750mbar was way too much, AFR readings were too rich with just gentle gas pedal, so I moved to 13.5 starting at 850mBar and 12.8 starting 970mBar ? (13.5 col7,8 and 12.8 col 9,10).

Also another change I made was change the load index of col 10 from 1044 to 1010mBar, since it was never reaching the last column even on WOT? is that normal?

I can upload datalog but unsure what is the best size/length for a open loop datalog to be shared and have enough details?
