Idle problems when hot (race calibration)

Post by mladjan »

Hi,

I have supercharged FN2 and when I start engine (cold start) its working fine. But when engine is hot (switched off 10 min ago) and trying to start engine, it starts but shuts off because idle is low. If I press a gas pedal a little bit, it will stay running. This is also happening on stops in city, it drops revs too much when I move to neutral.

I attached my calibration, and idle is 900rpm in these cases, but don't know if I need to setup some other map for that?

Can you post a Datalog of the issue?
What injectors and supercharger do you have?

C38-81, DW1000. Will try to log that tomorrow, as separated log.

This is calibration (changes in idle map), and log where we can see how revs drop to 700rpm when I put it in neutral.
Starting issue I wan't able to record because it stops logging.

Why do you use a race calibration (no longer supported by Hondata).
Use a hybrid map and afm-fuel to tune the idle correct!

At the second time in your log, the idle is to rich, so the speed goes down!
What intake manifold do you have?

I got base calibration for kit from TTS, so it was easier to fine tune it. Tried to tune hybrid calibration, and done low cam, but for high cam something was too much wrong and I needed to switch back to race calibration because its safe.

Intake manifold is stock, this is Shaft drive TTS kit.

The calibrations of TTS are terrible and not recommendable!

Is your throttle body before or after the supercharger?
Is your Maf-sensor further on the stock place?

Which deathtimes have you used for your DW1000cc?

Throttle body is after Supercharger, and MAF sensor is between intercooler and throttle body (picture attached).
Dead timings I found in DW website and its already in calibration.

I know that race calibration is not ideal, and for now its safer for me. When I have time, will work on Hybrid calibration.

Just a quick tip, if the calibration is good, I have seen this issue before from sticky injectors, when worn as they heat up the "latency" changes. It can usually be identified by a slowly drifting positive short term fuel trim, at idle in hot temps. Where as most fuel trims will drift negative at idle over time due to less fuel required by the hotter air.

Teacher: So, technically there is no replacement for RPM either.

Did you ever find a solution? I'm having the same issue with my Kraftwerks Rotrex
