After Firmware update, cal problem
After Firmware update, cal problem
My laptop crashed, so I reinstalled FP manager, a new version Oct 19th and
obviously when I plugged in FP it updated the firmware.
Problem is now my only copy of my calibration is on the Flashpro unit.
I get the message I need to download the cal to my laptop and reload
it to the FlashPro. The only thing highlighted is the delete icon.
.
The upload & download are faded out. Pics below.

Re: After Firmware update, cal problem
Your tuner has read protected the calibration and you will need to contact them for a copy of it.
Re: After Firmware update, cal problem
That's the problem, Vit Tuned is refusing to e-mail me my last tune.
Long story, but in a nut shell, the tune process should take around
20-25 calibrations & 2 months.
First month I received 11 revisions.
Second month 4, when I questioned Vit about why the
turn around was taking so long things went South.
No where on his website does he mention calibrations are locked.
This prevents access to all features of FP.
Top speed limiter, rev limter, full throttle upshift enable
and other features. Only launch control via cruise is accessable.
If I had know his locking the calibration would cause this
lock out of uploading or downloading the calibration stored
on my FlashPro I would not have updated the firmware.
Buyer beware of Vit Viper, Vit Tuned & Vitaliy Mikitchenco

Re: After Firmware update, cal problem
Clark was not refused anything -- we resent him his final calibration as a courtesy (on 10/23 at 2:42pm -- not sure why he's on the Hondata forum here lying, we have the email w/ all timestamps) even though his emails were less than friendly (hostile). He was never denied any service or any request. He attempted to commit theft/fraud via PayPal and PayPal denied his claim. We provided the service he paid for in a timely fashion at the level he paid for and his posts on 9thgencivic.com were even glaring reviews until it came time for him to attempt to defraud us of our work so he could get a free tune.
Everyone is responsible for their own backups. We do not sell nor offer any data retention services through our website. I advise using Google Drive or Dropbox to avoid this issue in the future.
We have every right to protect the intellectual property in our tunes and in how we do our tunes. Calibration protection features are available to tuners on nearly every system out there and every tuner has a right to protect their work.
I'm not a licensed psychiatrist so I really am not qualified to rationalize why a grown man acts worst than a child -- but I certainly have a few theories.

Re: After Firmware update, cal problem
Sorry Vit, but I have every e-mail from August 1 to Sept 29 when you sent the last tune.
Maybe you sent it to the wrong e-mail?
Please resend the last tune, locking the calibration as posted above causes
me to lose it stored in the FlashPro when updating the firmware.
Why would I post the image above asking for help if you sent it on Oct 23
I have MSN outlook which stores ALL my e-mail's on their server.
My computer crashed on the 19th, so I would have it IF you sent it.
Calling me a liar doesn't look good for you, I just need my final calibration please.

LOL, ok, the reason I filed a dispute with paypal was for you to finish my tune.VitViper wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2017 1:54 am He attempted to commit theft/fraud via PayPal and PayPal denied his claim. You got pissed because I wanted to know why I received 11 revisions in August
then it slowed to 4 total in Sept. ?
When I asked why you fired off 5 rude e-mails, (I still have them)
and all of a sudden my tune was done. What happened to your quote
on the website. "The tune is done when we are BOTH happy with the cars performance" ?
You never asked me that nor did I tell you that I was "Happy"
Oh, and the lifetime tune updates / touch ups? How do you not owe me anything as you've said ?
Re: After Firmware update, cal problem
Not according to my "Welcome to VitTuned E-Mail
You locked me out of this information.

Re: After Firmware update, cal problem
Just an update, we recently had a cold snap here in South Florida.
Temp from 56°f to 66°f. Car was tuned in 90°f to 95°f.
I did a few data logs and logged 9 knocks in one 2nd gear pull.
Never had any knocks in 2nd gear when temps were in the 90's.
Also AF ratio's were very lean compared to warmer weather.
I contacted VitTuned for a touch up tune as is included with an
Ultimate Tune. No response through VitTuned website and big
surprise, Vit blocked my e-mail address to his direct e-mail VitTuned.com.
Once again, VitTuned does not honor what they say on their website
and I did not receive what I paid for.

Re: After Firmware update, cal problem
I want to make sure I got this right, you got mad because you thought your car should have had more tuning than the X amount of runs you did, but where told it was done, then file a paypal claim because you say you didn't get what you paid for? you lost that claim so you go anywhere you can to complain and try to get more? then after trying to defraud a company you expect them to work on your car again for you? I must admit, I have seen this same kinda thing play out before, reason no one is helping you is because you seem to be the problem and people are keeping there distance. suck it up, pay for new tuning from someone else sense you already have shown you don't trust vittuned and will just file a claim anyways and vittuned does not want to help someone who tried to pull a fast one on them.
Re: After Firmware update, cal problem
The data logs prove the tune was not completed.
Vit claims the tune is done when "we are both happy". That didn't happen.
That's why the paypal dispute.
Now he locked me out of my calibrations and will not do
updates on the tune I paid for. Lifetime updates is what he says come with this tune.
Vit is trying to pull a fast one, his ego is going to cost him this time.

Re: After Firmware update, cal problem
If your a tuner and know what the logs should look like, why pay someone else, a professional to tune it?
where you telling him there was issues or problems while tuning? if you told him it feels good and the logs look good, that would indicate the tune was finished.
A vast majority of tuners lock the calibration, nothing like the customer fiddling with things or giving hard work away on forums.
You tried to file a claim on him, you where basically trying to extort him, how is he pulling the fast one? he did not file a claim on you, you did to him and his company.

I'm a 30 year Mercedes tech, my tuning experience was with old school carbs, cam timingHybrid_Hatch wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2017 8:04 pm

with a degree wheel and distributor advance springs. Not modern ECU with cam angles & other
electronic controls. That's why I hired a "Professional" I thought.
I never said I was happy with the final tune, in fact Vit never asked for a data logHybrid_Hatch wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2017 8:04 pm where you telling him there was issues or problems while tuning?

of the final tune. Odd that he sent me one if "He" thought we were done.
No, not the password protecting of the calibrations.Hybrid_Hatch wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2017 8:04 pm A vast majority of tuners lock the calibration, nothing like the customer

He blocked my access to my page on his website to all 15 calibrations
as well as access to upload a data log.
He would not respond to my requests to sending a data log of the final tune.Hybrid_Hatch wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2017 8:04 pm You tried to file a claim on him, you where basically trying to extort him, how is he pulling the fast one?
he did not file a claim on you, you did to him and his company.
He would not respond to my request to send a data log for an e-dyno to see
the power increase over stock, since the tune was done.
That's why I opened a dispute, to get a response to my concerns. Hardly extortion.
You VitTunes fan boys can't understand Vit is not the perfect business owner you think
Just google Vit Tunes reviews or the 8th gen & 9th Gen forums.
Many complaints about turn sround time even with Priority Tune service
and lack of communication, I went back to 2014. Always the same story.
Clearly I'm out some of what I paid for, No future tune updates which are part
of the $300 "Ultimate Tune" or in my case a half ass Tune.
Lesson learned, go to a local established dyno. Too easy to get screwed
with an internet tune.

Re: After Firmware update, cal problem
I would recommend that you do your homework and become knowledgeable in efi tuning, from what I can tell you wont be happy no matter what, you can study up at places like https://www.efi101.com/ and get a better understanding for how this stuff works, then tune it yourself so that way you have no one to blame but yourself.
