high boost d16 street tune

Post by TheBrownGarage »

i havent played with this much boost before so ide like some others w more experience than me to look the tune over, particularly the ignition tables. since im street tuning w no knock sensor or egt sensor im educated guessing my ign in boost, im at 30 wot N/A and the 1 degree per psi retard techniques always worked good for me, but ive never ran over 15 psi before, now im running into the 30s, ive heard 3 degree retard per 4 psi can also work, ive looked into what i could find for max advance on even higher hp d16s and found some using 8+ at 30 psi+. the build is very simple, if its not listed its stock, d16y8, eagle vitara, bc valve springs, arp studs, b series tb, aem 320 lph pump, fic 1000cc injectors, china t3t4 t04e turbo. the fuel tables are dialed in, afrs mid 11s till 20psi then mid 10s till 35psi, 93 pump, the boost is at 29 psi now but i ran it to a 35psi boost cut before.

The only way to safely adjust timing at these levels is on the dyno. Doing this on the street is very risky.
