CPR wiring help!!!

Post by dlc18 »

I have wired in the CPR and all I get is the green power light and the red ING light flashing while cranking. Yellow SYNC light does not come on and car will not start. I have an OBDII-OBDI conversion harness with a PR4 and Hondata s300. I have harness variation A. I soldered power into A11 and soldered ground into A10 of my original OBDII harness. I removed wire at A21 and put the Orange wire of the CPR into pin A21 of the OBDI connector as I was told not to use A22 which doesn't matter anyways because I did try A22 and got the same results. I wired the White/Brown wire into A16. There was NOT a wire in A16 to remove. I went into Smanager, Misc., and enabled SYNC for ALTC. The coils are not firing the plugs. Please help.

Have you uploaded the whole calibration after you made the changes?

Can you please go back and double check the wiring and pins that you have replaced as it sounds like that is the most likely cause of problems.

As it sits right now, from the wire side of OBDI connector A, the orange wire is in A21 and the white/brown wire is in A16. Again, I did not have to remove any wires from these 2 places. I did have to remove a wire from pin A22 when I was told to use that position for the orange wire. I get the same results when I use pin A22 as when I use pin A21.

I did get confused earlier from someone else's directions and put the orange wire in A16 and the white/brown wire in A22. When I did that, the yellow SYNC light would come on, but the red ING light would not and the car still would not start.

If you need, I can send my calibration in to see if I have loaded it properly.

Sending the calibration will not tell me if you have actually uploaded it to the ECU. Have you clicked on the upload button?

Ya, and it did it's thing for a couple of seconds. I tried it again after moving wires and it didn't take nearly as long, so it seems to be loaded in there. Any way to test the CPR box?

Since you have had to depin the connections a few times, make sure that the pins are inserted correctly and have not pushed back out when you plug them into the ECU.

The pins seem to be just fine. Still no spark or yellow SYNC light.

Take a good high quality and in focus picture of the connector where you have put the pins and post it here.

The orange wire is in pin A22. The white/brown wire is in pin A21, but is not connected to anything. I just could not depin it. The white/brown wire from the CPR is connected to the black wire that is in pin A16. I also added a pic of the distributor.
