Hey,
Currently in the planning process and am trying to figure out if I can run KPro with my setup. I am swapping a k24a2 with a e153 MR2 trans into my 1992 MR2 and had a couple of questions:
1) Using the "alternative vss input" should the V4 be able to read the vss coming from the trans?
2) When trying to buy the KPro here:
https://www.hondata.com/?_route_=kpro
It says that the base 02 - 04 rsx auto ecu can't be used. But on this website it says you can:
https://www.hondata.com/tech-alternativ ... ngine-swap
Basically, I just need some clarification to make sure that the V4 will be what ECU I'm going with.
Thanks in advance,
Simeon
KPro V4 Questions
Re: KPro V4 Questions
The ECU will be able to see the signal input to the K-Pro, but the cluster will not.
Info on using an auto ECU can be found at: https://www.hondata.com/tech-alternativ ... ngine-swap
I would recommend not using an auto ECU as it is more limited and has some compatibility issues.

Re: KPro V4 Questions
Thanks for your response! Is there a spreadsheet or some info as to what its limitations are?
Re: KPro V4 Questions
Info is in the link above.
Re: KPro V4 Questions
So the only limitation is that the ecu won't work with cruise control? Not trying to sound smart or anything, but maybe I'm missing something?
Re: KPro V4 Questions
There is also no way to send the VSS signal from the ECU to the cluster.

Hello Spunkster,
I am a little new on this, but when you say, " There is also no way to send the VSS signal from the ECU to the cluster " .
Does this mean that if I use an AUTOMATIC ECU, that I will not PHYSICALLY see the speedometer needle go up and down on the gauge on my car's dashboard ?
======
If yes, is there a solution for this ?
======
Would this same issue also occur with a Type S RSX or a Base RSX MANUAL ECU ?

Re: KPro V4 Questions
Would a 37820-pnd-0a6 or 37820-pnd-0a8 ECU have this issue ?
Re: KPro V4 Questions
Hello Spunkster,
I found a post on VTEC Academy concerning the VSS.
" HONDATA SPEEDO FIX PT2 "

I also found a video by VTEC Academy at . . .

Would this solution work concerning the VSS Speedo issue for an AUTO ECU using KPRO v4 ?

Re: KPro V4 Questions
This will not work on ECUs that were installed by anyone other than Hondata.
