Modded 2018 SI issues

Post by SoteroX44 »

Hello, I own a 2018 civic si with quite a few bolt-on mods.

PRL Cobra CAI Race MAF
FP/DP Combo NoCAT
MagnaFlow Exhaust
PRL Intercooler
Type R Shifter with Acuity Bushings.
Clutchmasters FX450 Clutch with Lighter Flywheel

I selected the following tune CIVIC Si-Turbo-2017-2-Sport-Tuned-High (i use 93 octane gas) and here’s a list of the Mods I’ve checked on the mods screen:

Optimized Boost Response
Scramble Mode Toggle
Cam angle exhaust limit extended
Disable misfire detection
Disable secondary O2
Increased fuel pressure
PRL CAI race MAF
Disable Rev hang
FTS
Throttle Response Stage 1
Throttle Sensitivity Stage 2

Here is issue #1, whenever I upload a tune with disable Rev Hang checked, the car revs on it’s own when its moving regardless if the car is on neutral or not (this happens in low rpms). Example: im on a hill, the car is on neutral, the car rolls and the revs go up without the car being in gear. Another Example: im driving the car, and its in gear, the car jerks cause the revs go up randomly. However when the car is stationary the revs stay normal. So I decided to enable rev hang (uncheck the box) and only then, the car behaves normally.

Issue #2. Whenever I hard shift into 3rd (this with rev hang on or off) the car stops accelerating, like if something is not allowing the car to pickup more speed, it has like a loss of power a delay pf a few seconds and then it picks up speed…. this only happens when the tune is uploaded. Without the tune the car picks up speed as it normally would. I never activate Traction control and/or launch settings.

Thank you in advanced.

Ok, on the first issue, I found that enabling cruise control solves the issue and it’s basically like disabling rev hang on demand.

Issue 2, I haven’t seen a solution yet.

You will need to post the calibration as well as a datalog showing the issue.

hello, here is the calibration and datalog. At minute 3:09ish, the issue happened at third gear and at later time (minute 4:15ish) it happened at 4th gear. It shows a loss of speed.

I've looked over it and can't see anything obvious. I have asked our tuner to take a look and see what he thinks.

Fuel trims are way off. That is probably the cause of your problems; but regardless needs to be fixed.

Thank you all for your responses. It seems like I need a tuner, so I’ll look into it since a lot of parts are still to be installed. Have a good one.

It’s your throttle settings just leave them standard

I’ve been having the same issue with the 3rd to 4th gear pull it cuts out right when I get into fourth WOT and cuts out for 3secs then power is back I think a E TUNE will take care of it not sure how well the base map calibrations are for every car in different climates im in TX and it’s been hot af and having issues with my knock control has been .60 ~ .78 steady at .54 could be the hot air I’m just now getting my intercooler or I just need a better tune? Idk
