Shutting Off at Idle

Post by ivanaguilar7x7 »

Hello,
My car is having an intermittent issue with shutting off at idle randomly, and moreso when there is more load on the engine (AC).
I first experienced the issue when ambient temps here in southern California began to rise, and with the car on pump gas and dialing the dead times (ID1000), which I read through a previous thread and think I got pretty close, the car randomly shut off once in about 95 degree heat and I attributed it to the alternator rectifier, which I swapped out along with the brush holder and voltage regulator.
I have subsequently began tuning for E85 and I'm able to get part throttle and full throttle all where they should be, but it now shuts off at idle every time. I disabled ELD thinking it was voltage-related, didn't help. It's less likely to do it with AC off and almost guaranteed with AC on and on the logs I can't really determine a reason as to why.
I will attach current calibration and related logs

Has this been properly tuned on the dyno?

It has not, I haven't been able to make time with my tuner, just wanted to get it running as close to "safe" as I could before going, as when I first was running the built motor the tune was extremely lean. So just working on getting it running well-enough, I haven't touched timing really and was just getting AFRs to a safe value. Just haven't been able to figure the car shutting off at idle so consistently.

Do you have a lightweight flywheel?

OEM AP1 flywheel (14lbs).
Didn't want too light so as to keep street drivability. Rotating mass of the motor now seems lighter though so I'm sure that contributes.

That is most likely the cause of this. I would wait to see if getting properly tuned has any effect on this.
