New to Hondata and how to fix this?

Post by MegaHarlequin »

My device and vehicle
  • My device was transfered to me by my friend whose vehicle is Civic Turbo MT China 2016 (FC1)
  • My vehicle: Civic Turbo MT China 2020 (FK7)
My problem
  • When I get started on FlashPro and lock the device to my FK7, the FlashPro showed my car model and ECU Binary as a Civic Turbo MT Canada 2020(as the photo shows)

  • but I'm 1000% sure of my vehicle was produced domestically in China by Dongfeng Honda.
  • I asked some friends driving FK7, they all told me that their FlashPros showed the correct model.
  • I have tried to unlock from my vehicle and re-locked to it, that still shows a Canada model.

How to fix this?

Btw, I have installed the Injen EVO CAI and a mid-cooler produced by Skunk2 Racing, should I choose the calibration with "Injen CAI/SRI" description?

If it is allowing you to upload to it then don't worry about what it is showing there.

Have you tried that calibration?

Yes, I tried the +6psi high octane, Injen CAI/SRI calibration for the Chinese model today, and have had a test drive.
Currently nothing strange happened.

Regarding the Car model, I've seen an Chinese post at https://fk7.nova.moe/mod/ecu/ says that Chinese Civic ECUs are randomly distributed so it seems just flash what Hondata thinks should be fine.

About the Injen intake, are you using the EVO1500 (Link https://injen.com/i-30497557-injen-evol ... o1500.html), will choosing Injen CAI/SRI cause any problems as it changes AFM?

The instrution on Injen site shows [Designed to work with the stock calibration] and there seems so little instructions on the software, like when should we choose [Injen CAI/SRI], I've found another thread at https://www.driveaccord.net/threads/hon ... ne.544943/, replys are indicating that is not a CAI or SRI (I think these are called 长短管,长管进气? in chinese), but rather just an air intake.

Hope can get some more info from Hondata regarding [Injen CAI/SRI], like in which case should we select this, and will this be needed when using an non-regular intake like the Injen EVO1500.

You can try it with different settings and see which one works better in your case.

Thanks for reply, but how should I define [works better], like which data should I focus on to determine whether choosing [Injen CAI/SRI] in mods are really working better?

My personal idea is on Fuel Trim, not sure if I'm right.

You would need to look at the fueling as well as make sure there is no knock.

Thanks for it,l'm coming back to provide feedback, two tests are on 38C IAT2 and 95RON fuel, with stock intake, the KC is always about 68% and can generate about 7 knocks in 15 minutes drive.

With [Injen CAI/SRI] selected, the KC has come down to 56% and may generate fewer knock in the same driving period.

And I can see some fuel trim differences, though I still cannot understand it, as the calibration without [Injen CAI/SRI] selected has Trim closer to 0.

Log screenshots below, right one is with [Injen CAI/SRI] selected:

BTW, what's the difference between these two

Can we understand [Civic-Turbo-MT-2017-2-Tuned-High] is the better edition than the [Civic-Turbo-MT-2017-2-Tuned-High] with [Injen CAI/SRI] selected?
