CANFlex Issues
CANFlex Issues
I am having intermittent issues where the CANFlex will throw a check engine light while driving. The indicator lights on the can adapter will flash red and green. This happens every so often while driving and seems to be getting more and more prevalent. The check engine light will go away on its own and the can device will resume flashing green based on the enthanol content. I have checked and reseated all connections. Thoughts?
Re: CANFlex Issues
Do you have a datalog of when this is happening?
Re: CANFlex Issues
Well i took two trips of 20+ minutes and no issues. Usually its good in the mornings and the afternoons it is an issue. But today it was the opposite.
I have logs but no CEL popped up.. so not sure if those are any value.

Re: CANFlex Issues
Check the wiring while it is running and see if you can get the check engine light to come on with moving it a certain way or in a certain place.
Did you install this yourself or was it installed by someone else?
How is the wire form the sensor to the EBCAN box routed?

Re: CANFlex Issues
I went to the outside and through the door trim. Which was shown as an option.
Re: CANFlex Issues
Have you checked the 2 wiring harnesses?
Re: CANFlex Issues
I didn't inspect the harness preinstallation. I will pull it and look this weekend. Also I will re route cable to firewall.
The install directions are confusing with a mix of 10th and 11th gen information. 11th gen install is done by removing the car battery and not with windscreen.

Re: CANFlex Issues
Both 10th and 11th gen installation are best done by removing the battery and going through the wiring connector near the clutch. Be careful when creating a hole in the grommet as it is easy to damage the factory wiring harness if you poke something through. I'd never recommend going around the door trim.
Inspect all the wiring and also connectors for recessed pins. Seems like you understand the use of the LEDs for diagnostics already.

Re: CANFlex Issues
Did you ever get this fixed? I am having the exact same issue.
Re: CANFlex Issues
I also have a client experiencing the same condition, specifically using software version 4.3.4.0.
My personal DE5 hasn't encountered this yet, and I've driven it quite a bit. As a side note, I haven't flashed my own vehicle with 4.3.4.0 at all yet, if that matters.

Re: CANFlex Issues
Please update to the new software and see if you have the same issue.

Re: CANFlex Issues
Joined just to add a comment that the problem exists when the FlashPro unit is unplugged from the OBD port.
I reflashed my calibration and have left my FlashPro plugged in and the light is a blinking/happy green light now.
