    Perhaps the only upgrade you plan do to your car is an intake or cat-back. Maybe you're not technically minded and would prefer to put your car's tuning in the hands of one of Hondata's expert tuners. Now you can benefit from Hondata's state of the art custom tuning software and calibrations with no downtime.  Just drive your Honda or Acura to any one of the participating dealers. Within a few minutes they can install one of the many tuned base maps. If you want to go a little further the Hondata dealer can perform a custom tune. Supported vehicles Any vehicle supported by FlashPro except for the 2017+ Civic Type R,  as this requires additional ECU modifications. How it works 1) Drive to any participating Hondata dealer. 2) The dealer connects their dealer FlashPro to your car and registers the license with Hondata. 3) The Hondata dealer then installs a basemap or performs a custom tune on their dyno. 4) Contact your dealer for pricing. Yes. You do not need to do anything special to the ECU.  However, given the price difference between the dealer reflash and FlashPro you are best to get the FlashPro if you think you are going to tune the vehicle yourself. Can my Hondata dealer return my car to stock? Yes. Are there any tuning limitations? No. All tuning features available with FlashPro can be applied to your car. Can I take my car to another Hondata dealer for tuning? You can, but that would require the other dealer to purchase a tuning license from Hondata. What if I plan to move and need another dealer to tune my car? A FlashPro would be a better option. How does the license work? To tune your car the Hondata dealer purchases a license that is then associated with the VIN number of your car and the dealer. That license is not transferable. It is associated with the dealer and vehicle for life.

The ECU reflash form must be sent with your ECU. Important Notes This reflash will work well with a variety of aftermarket performance parts. It will work well with: An intake Cat-backs (as long as they are less restrictive than stock) A race header * A combination of intake and race header (*Note that current race headers eliminate the catalytic converter and will generate a check engine light. This engine check light is for emissions and will not affect the car's performance. Race headers are for off road use only) You must have a minimum of an intake or header. It is not designed to work with a stock 2006-2011 Civic Si and will lose power between 4500rpm and 5600 rpm if installed. Intakes The 06 Civic employs a mass air flow sensor that automatically adjusts the air-fuel ratio for increases in air flow from correctly designed intakes and race headers. Intakes for this car are critical. The intake, in particular the size and shape of the piping around the mass air flow sensor, is the primary determinant of fueling for this car. If you have any problems in running rich or lean, then you must retest with the stock intake. Race headers will not cause this engine to run lean.

    Reflash your 2002-2004 RSX Type S engine computer. Fuel, ignition and cam angle optimized. VTEC point lowered to 5200 rpm for cars with intake systems. Rev limiter optionally raised to 8600 RPM (see valve spring tech information). 12-20 peak wheel hp from a stock RSX depending on the dyno and modifications. 15-20 ft/lb torque increase between 2500-3500 rpm. Peak torque now at 3200 rpm on an unmodified RSX. Very flat smooth torque curve. 95% of peak torque available from 2500-8000 rpm. Fully dealer compatible - works with all Honda scan tools and equipment. This is for an ECU reflash - the ECU is not included.  Hondata does not sell direct - the reflash must be purchased from a Hondata dealer. The ECU reflash form must be sent with your ECU.     Reflash your RSX Type S (Type R specification) engine computer. Fuel, igniton timing and cam timing optimized. Rev limiter raised to 8800 rpm. (ITR ECU uses a 8500 rpm rev limiter) VTEC point lowered from 6100 (ITR ECU) to 5200 rpm. 8 peak wheel hp increase over an ITR ECU. Peak power raised 200 rpm (8100-8300) Peak torque now at 6300 rpm, down from 7600. Significant midrange torque increases form 5500-7000 rpm 15 ft/lb torque increase between 2500-3500 rpm. 20 ft/lb torque increase at 6300 rpm. Fully dealer compatible- works with all Honda scan tools and equipment. VTEC window from 4900 to 5800 rpm 8600 rpm Rev limit, increased from 8300 rpm Maximum torque gain 12 ft/lbs torque at 6000 rpm Maximum power gain 20 hp at 8000 rpm Peak torque increases by 6 ft-lbs Peak power increases by 8 hp Very wide flat smooth torque curve. 90% of peak torque available from 2200-8000 rpm. Fully dealer compatible - works with all Honda scan tools and equipment This is for an ECU reflash - the ECU is not included.  Hondata does not sell direct - the reflash must be purchased from a Hondata dealer. The ECU reflash form must be sent with your ECU. We do not recommend the use of nitrous or forced induction for this reflash. For these applications use the K-Pro. What if you have modifications? What will work well: Intakes (especially cold air intakes) Cat-Back exhausts Hondata Heatshield Intake manifold gaskets What is not recommended: Stock Airbox Race header (see 05-06 RSX Race header reflash) Race camshafts Forced induction Check your catback exhaust carefully. The internal diameter of the rear muffler is often smaller than stock. If this is the case you will probably make less power than stock with more noise. It will work OK with a stock airbox but you will not see these advertised power gains, and you may feel a dip after VTEC. If you have a race header you will run lean. This is not a result of the Hondata reflash. Even the stock ECU will run lean with a race header. If you intend to run race headers you have two choices: 05-06 RSX Race header reflash Hondata K-Pro for the 05 RSX. Testing was done with a stock cat back system. How do I remove my ECU and immobilizer? The ECU is located behind plastic panels to the right of the driver's right foot and the left of the passenger's left foot. Both panels will need to be removed. Driving Impressions This reflash is difficult to feel because it keeps the torque delivery flat and smooth to a much higher RPM. Rather than the torque dropping 20 ft/pounds from 5000 rpm to 6000 rpm stock, the reflash keeps the torque drop to only 10 ft pounds between 5000 and 7000 rpm. VTEC transition at 5000 rpm is also very smooth with only a slight change in induction noise.
