    TSX Dyno Day

    • Nov 11 2011

    Hondata FlashPro

Saturday November 19th 2011 Hondata hosted a TSX Dyno day. These are the results.

    dbss

    • 2007 Auto
    • Intake - 1/2 Injen
    • Exhaust - Hytech
    • Header - Hytech
    • Cams - Hytech
    • Cat - Renault
    • Engine 12:1 built

    Hondata comments:
Very strong well built engine. 45 HP more than the best manual transmission tested that day! 38 HP more but only 10 ft-lbs less torque than a 2011 model 3.5 V6 tested the same day.

    • Mods:2007 MT
    • Intake - CT Icebox
    Hondata comments:
A good example of what the Hondata reflash can do for an 06 TSX engine. The second graphic shows a custom tune on this engine.

    Hondata suggestions for improvements:
Race header with race catalytic converter
    45-50 degree VTC wheel
These two changes will substantially improve the mid-range torque and enable a lower VTEC point of around 4300 rpm.

Custom tuned with and now the base calibration shipping with FlashPro

    • 2005 AT
    • Hondata Reflash
    • Intake - Injen SP1431 converted to shortram
    • Cat - Fastline Performance
    • Exhaust - Stock
    • Underdrive pulleys
    Hondata comments:
A good example of what the Hondata reflash can do for an 05 TSX engine. Very very smooth power delivery. Compare to the 07 TSX AT dynos below without reflash

    Hondata suggestions for improvements:
    07 AT ECU
    FlashPro
Race header with race catalytic converter
    45-50 degree VTC wheel
These changes will substantially improve the mid-range torque and enable a lower VTEC point of around 4300 rpm.

    • 2007 AT
    • Apexi Power Intake
    • Apexi WS exhaust
    Hondata comments:
The VTEC point needs lowering to around 4700 RPM which will improve midrange substantially. The peak power of this engine is actually 207 HP due the automatic transmission operation causing a momentary power spike at 6700 rpm. Actual peak power is closer to about 207.

    Hondata suggestions for improvements:
    • FlashPro
    • Race header with race catalytic converter
    • 45-50 degree VTC wheel

These changes will substantially improve the mid-range torque and drivability. Look to the first dyno on this page to see what is possible with this engine with automatic transmission.

    • 2006 AT
    • Intake - K&N
    • Exhaust Greddy SP2
    • Headers - DC Ceramic
    • UR Pulleys

The peak power of this engine is actually 207 HP due the automatic transmission operation causing a momentary power spike at 6700 rpm. Of interest, the addition of the DC header gives this 06 TSX very similar power to Ken7's 07 TSX

    04 TSX MT
    Hytech Header
    Hytech Catback
    Hondata reflash for 04-05 TSX

    Hondata comments:
The Hytech header works very well at drawing extra air into the engine. However the extra air needs extra fuel and this engine ran extremely lean causing a significant loss of power at 5000 RPM.
    Hondata suggestions for improvements:
    • 07 TSX ECU conversion
    • FlashPro
    • 45-50 degree intake camshaft VTC wheel
    • 06 TSX intake camshaft  part number 14110-RBB-A00 - about $470 retail.

The intake camshaft is a straight drop in. These changes will substantially improve the mid-range torque and enable a lower VTEC point of around 4000 rpm. Peak power will be somewhere around 235-240HP.
